Welcome to the the National Avian Welfare Alliance (NAWA). We are an advocacy group with the goal of providing guidance and commentary to the USDA regarding the Animal Welfare Act.

It’s crucial that regulators at the USDA receive input from a diversity of voices. Without active participation from a variety of perspectives, the writing of regulations and standards will be left to animal rights activists without a balanced perspective from the many other groups that are impacted by these laws.

NAWA endeavors to provide education and insight to policy makers, helping to draft reasonable recommendations for the Animal Welfare Act that consider the broader avicultural community.
